Review: I loved, loved, loved this film! I thought it was absolutely brilliant. It was incredibly entertaining and had such a good message surrounding it. That no matter what your background is, you can always succeed if you put your mind to it.
For me, I would say that this is for people who want a slightly less serious James Bond film. It’s just a bit of fun and having watched it many times since it was released I can safely say that I still find it highly entertaining.
Colin Firth is just such a brilliant actor, I have loved all of his films that I have seen and he didn’t fail to deliver with this one. He is just so perfect for his role here – the well turned out man, who is also a spy and has perfect aim when needing to fight someone. Also, his character is just so lovely, with the fact that he keeps his promise to look after Eggsy. I mean it really is a sweet gesture.
And then there’s Eggsy himself played by Taron Egerton (who I’m starting to have a major crush on at the moment!). Egerton is the perfect actor for him, he’s absolutely brilliant -he’s funny, a complete charmer and I loved the scene with the puppy.
There is so much that goes on in this film that you’ll never be bored and it keeps you guessing as to how things will turn out.
You also get to know the characters really well and most of them you’ll end up hating. BUT you’ll be rooting for the good guys straight from the start.
And it’s because of the good guys that I think that this film is brilliant. It sends out the perfect message and is entertaining at the same time.
I mean I’ve watched it so often now and I’m still not bored of it. That clearly has to count for something.
