Review: The main thing that I love about this film is that I could quite happily watch it again and again and again.
This is the perfect film for those moments where all you need is just a good laugh. It’s entertaining, it’s silly and most importantly it’s a feel good kind of film.
The friendship between the main girls feels real and they fit together awesomely. I love it when they all get together to take John Tucker down – they clearly have each other’s backs.
And then there’s Kate’s mum, who, bless her, really cares for her daughter. Even when Kate gets mad at her, she still tries to give her the best advice because she knows what’s best for her daughter but as per usual the daughter NEVER listens and hence she gets hurt. Kate is the prime example of this steretypical thing – the mum tries to help, the daughter doesn’t listen. It gets to the end and the daughter’s like damn, I should have listened to my mother.
My main complaint really, is that Brittany Snow (Kate) who plays the annoymous/nerdy girl at the start, is clearly so gorgeous that I find it really hard to see her as invisible. Nevertheless, she really did fit this role perfectly. She’s witty and quite good at becoming either this really awkward and shy girl, to this confident and absolutely brilliant person.
I did also see a lack of actually chemistry between John and Kate. Ironically, the main romance that I saw was in the chemistry room with the other Tucker. YET I still kind of wanted Kate and John to be perfect for each other. However, I’m happy with the way that the film ended because ultimately, it was the better ending.
This is the perfect film for whenever you’re in the need for a girly movie night in.
Like I said at the very start, this film is so awesome that I’ll happily watch it again and again and again. Hopefully you’ll love it as much as I do.
